A lot of people have heard about
Kamchatka, but not everybody knows surely where it is. It is not Siberia
and not Vladivostok. It is much further. This mountainous peninsula, situated
between the Okhotsk Sea on the west and the Bering Sea on the east. It offers streaming volcanoes and multi-colored meadows, rocky coastlines,
and bright green forests. Regional capital is Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.
On the peninsula there are about 150 volcanoes, 29
of which are active, 200 geysers, thousend of brown bears and some of
the world's greatest diversity of salmon, trout and char.
